The DOST-CAR Regional Metrology Laboratory (RML) has been granted continued accreditation by the Department of Trade and Industry-Philippine Accreditation Bureau (PAB) based on the requirements of PNS ISO/IEC 17025:2017 in the field of calibration during the recently concluded Second Surveillance Visit on September 1-2, 2022. Additional scope covering the calibration of industrial mechanical weighing equipment based on OIML R 76-1 and UKAS Lab 14, an international guidance document on the calibration of weighing equipment, has been added to its list of accredited calibration methods.

ISO/IEC 17025 is an international standard that covers the general requirements that testing and calibration laboratories need to meet in order to establish their capacity to deliver reliable results.

Further, approved signatory status covering Mass and Weighing Devices were granted to Engr. Rodel B. Inga-an, Mr. Orlando B. Menzi and Engr. Meriam C. Antolin.

The DOST-CAR Regional Metrology Laboratory was first granted accreditation by PAB based on PNS ISO/IEC 17025:2017 on February 21, 2020. Prior to that, the laboratory has maintained its accreditation by PAB based on ISO/IEC 17025:2005 since November 23, 2015.

The laboratory currently offers calibration services for mass; analytical, digital, electronic and spring balances; 10 L test measures or calibrating buckets; thermometers, thermohygrometers, and sphygmomanometers.
